Final Harvest, Late Harvest

There were only a few short rows for the final harvest today at Clos des Amis– a late harvest riesling.

Co-owner and co-winemaker Gretel Meys Compton in the white sun hat, my redheaded son, and I knocked it out in no time, and hustled the grapes down the mountain to the winery where we pressed them under the watchful eye of co-owner and winemaker Bruce Freeman.

Busy day in the heat! I have a bottle of late harvest to sample that I planned to include in this post but too much to do today already so another time! Cheers!
