Thirsty Thursday Twitter Tastings 6/27 with #AlsaceRocks & #WFMwine

Today, Thursday June 27from 4-6pm  is one heckuva  Thirsty Thursday! We’ve got 8 bottles of wine to open, taste and tweet about!
Annie AnyDay, Que Syrah Sue, and I plus a few more friends will be popping corks and posting notes  from 4-5pm for the #AlsaceRocks tasting of four Rieslings from Alsace:

– Domaine Weinbach Cuvée Théo 2011 ($30)
– Trimbach 2010 ($20)
– Ostertag 2011 ($24)
– Meyer-Fonné 2011 ($22)

Learn more about dry Rieslings from Alsace here.

Then from 5-6pm PST, we’ll pull four more corks for the Whole Foods Market tastings of four more of their  Top 10 Summer Wines.  Last month, we opened three bottles for the Whole Foods Tasting:
 ·        Vinum Cellars Chardonnay
 ·        Monte Velho Red (from Portugal!)
 ·        H&G Washington State Merlot

Today  from 5-6, we’ll taste
 ·        2012 Mont Gravet Côtes de Gascogne
 ·        2010 Lamatum Ribera del Duero Crianza
 ·        2010 Chateau Grand Claret Côtes de Bordeaux
 ·        Pizzolato Moscato (made from organic grapes!
All are welcome to follow along the hashtags on twitter: #AlsaceRocks and #WFMWine.
You can also pick up a bottle of one of the wines and taste and tweet with us! Or let us know about the Riesling from Alsace or the wine from Whole Foods that stole your heart, either below in the comments or on twitter with the rest of us.
Time to fit mine in to the fridge–yes, both reds and whites! We’ll take the reds outs when we take the whites out.
Because if you want to taste the wine, and really experience it, you don’t want your whites too cold or your reds too warm. A good rule of thumb for reds is to chill them and take them out and open them about 30 minutes before you want to taste them.
