Merry Christmas!
Someone pointed out to me that I was celebrating the 12 Days of Christmas with my Gift Guide all wrong! Today, December 25, is the actual FIRST DAY of Christmas, Christmas Day, when Christians celebrate the birth of Jesus. Yes, the 12 Days of Christmas start on Christmas Day and continue until the evening of 5th January which is also known as Twelfth Night.
But since most of us get visited by Santa and give our gifts on Christmas Eve or on Christmas Day, a Wine Lover’s Gift Guide after Christmas would not be quite so helpful unless you are a serious procrastinator.
Just in case you are still looking for gifts for the wine lover in your life, here’s the link to the First Day of Christmas, My True Love Sent to Me A Wine Calendar from Wine4Me.
Oh and here’s a wine tip — do not buy “Ugly Sweater” wine.
I bought these Ugly Sweater wines at Grocery Outlet and the story behind it is, as I understand it, that so many people were searching Amazon for wine for Ugly Sweater parties that they commissioned a winery to make a red and a white for them. Not sure if this ended up at Grocery Outlet because of the pandemic no one held Ugly Sweater parties OR the wine was so godawful they couldn’t sell it BUT the upshot is, unless you want it for the bottle, don’t but this for the wine.
Certainly do not give this Ugly Sweater wine to someone, not even your enemies. It’s really only good for those studying for their wine exams who need examples of flawed wines.
May your Christmas be
merry and bright
full of bubbles and toasts and joy
and glasses of great wine!
Cheers!
Happy holidays!
Ah…this is why I call it the 12 Days of Wine! I know it’s not the 12 Days from the song, but…it is 12 Days and we are celebrating wine, so…
Regardless of the tradition, celebrating anything at the holidays is a good thing! It’s all about spreading joy.

Ha! Yes! But it’s also giving me an excuse to reblog/revise/update/recreate content from Wine Predator over here on Art Predator!
